“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well” – Virginia Woolf

Never have we read such a true statement, and one which, we should add, seems to sum up the way we feel on a day to day basis.  Food is such an important part of our lives and should therefore be something that we enjoy.

We started The Maverick Kitchen because we have a passion for cooking AND eating food.  Why Maverick you may ask? Maverick because cooking and eating should be about what you want to eat, whenever you feel like it.  If you want a samosa for breakfast or a fry up for dinner that’s okay!  Our dream is to one day own a place where people can spend time with their friends and family and share food and drink that they want to eat –  in a place that does not limit them to the conventions of breakfast, lunch and dinner – or one particular genre.  Our kitchen, our rules.  Your stomach, your rules.

We only make food that we enjoy eating and that satisfies our need for gratification and  indulges the senses with each mouthful.  We eat for pleasure not just sustenance…

We love food, it makes us happy!  Wherever possible we try to source ingredients locally, sometimes it is a matter of hours from farm to kitchen!  We like the whole seasonal vibe too which means that our recipes change based upon what is available.

Delicious and satisfying  food made from good  stuff!

No guilt, just pure unadulterated pleasure…Whether eaten as a dessert, crumbled over ice cream, as a sweet treat, in lunchboxes or simply with a cuppa we hope you love our sweet bakery’s goodies. We like to experiment at the bakery so keep your eyes peeled for new stuff – and favourites with a twist.  We don’t want you to get bored!

Try our chutney with cheese and meats. Smear our jam on wedges of buttered toast or use it to make a tasty jam tart.  Eat it however you like it : )

No preservatives.  Nothing artificial .   Just pure lusciousness
